​10 units of Water Tender Ladder, WRL, Phase One is part of the government's initiative to enhance the Department of Fire and Rescue's preparedness, specifically in improving the fire and rescue operation capabilities. This reflected the Ministry of Home Affair's continuous commitment in providing modern sources and equipment that supports efficacy and the safety of fire and rescue personnel while on duty. With the commissioning of the new vehicles, the Department of Fire and Rescue is confident that its preparedness and capabilities can be further improved, inline with its vision of becoming a world-class fire and rescue service through professionalism, preparedness, and service excellence.

It was commissioned by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs. With the new vehicles, it will be able to ensure preparedness, enhance the level of excellent services, and at the same time, public service guarantee that the community can trust.
